Poem #1

Curiosity killed the cat, they say.
But what if it's okay to die?
Explore and find something more
Feel something you've never felt before.

What is life, and what does it all mean?
Are we all just in a rut?
Want to know what's behind these walls and this ceiling, taste the Earth in its riches and smell the sea salt water//
Swim miles in oceans, fly for hours on end.

Meaning, what's that?
A purpose, I'm destined to find.

One door closed, another opened
Didn't look before I crossed over
Ground became soft, turned into sky
Just kept falling
Have I gone too far?
Is this the end?
I think I'm the cat this time... and
I don't want to die.

Just an Introduction.

Hello :) My name is Melissa. I'm 19 years old and I live in Buffalo, NY. I've been writing poetry and other things for quite a while. I'm currently going to school for journalism, and I plan to graduate in 2 years and move to Pittsburgh for graduate school. I decided to begin posting some of my stuff online to share with people, and I hope that maybe some of you will like what you see. If that's the case, please consider clicking my PayPal button at the top of the page and donating a few dollars to my graduate school fund. With tuition, rent, food, car, insurance, and moving costs, it will take a lot for me to get to Pittsburgh in two years, and every little bit would help!

I'll be posting poems, writings, and graphics here. Just sort of a spill of everything!

I'm going to tag my posts with the sort of ~theme I feel they belong to or key words in them. This way, people will be able to easily search the blog and find what they're looking for.

Please don't steal any of my poems or graphics or use them without asking. Don't say that you wrote them, either.

If anyone wants to request a poem on a certain subject or for a special event, just comment on one of the posts and I'll see what I can do :)

Thanks for following, look for more updates soon!
